Electrical Engineering SME - CAD & Physics Simulation

Create realistic electrical-engineering design problems, solve them with circuit, PCB, electromagnetic, or multiphysics simulation tools, and document the complete workflow for AI training and evaluation. Remote, project-based work can pay up to $45/hour depending on the task and demonstrated expertise.

What you'll do

  • Define an original electrical design problem with a clear objective, measurable success criteria, and realistic component, performance, safety, and manufacturing constraints.
  • Create the circuit, PCB, electromagnetic, power-electronics, motor, or related design and run reproducible simulations using tools such as KiCad, ngspice, openEMS, FEMM, or equivalent engineering software.
  • Iterate through multiple design versions and preserve native project files, component values, models, simulation configuration, intermediate checkpoints, and quantitative results.
  • Record and narrate the working session, explaining component choices, engineering trade-offs, validation, and the final outcome clearly enough for a verifier engineer to reproduce.

What we look for

  • Strong practical electrical or electronics design experience, ideally with approximately 5-10 years of relevant professional, research, or advanced project work.
  • Independent experience with design software and at least one relevant simulation workflow such as SPICE, PCB analysis, electromagnetics, power electronics, motors, or control systems.
  • Ability to show verifiable evidence such as a portfolio, publication, thesis, patent, competition project, technical report, or permitted description of industry work.
  • Comfortable creating original tasks, recording the workflow, and sharing only work that does not expose confidential employer, university, or client material.
